(adopted 12/14/00)
"The mission of the board is to
protect the public health, safety and welfare through the regulation
of individuals licensed under the authority of the Board. To this
extent, the office of the Board receives information concerning
possible professional misconduct from various sources such as, but not
limited to, the following:

Another primary responsibility of
the Board is to provide for licensing and examination of doctors of
chiropractic and ensuring that persons practicing chiropractic in
Louisiana are properly educated and qualified. While the Legislature
defines the profession as well as the scope of activity within the
profession, the Board of Examiners provides the ongoing regulation
of the profession. This regulation is accomplished by the:
-
Issuance of licenses and
certificates to qualified doctors and assistants;
-
Communication of information
about professional practice, licensure and discipline;
-
Development of policies,
standards and guidelines for professional practice;
-
Disciplining of licensees
for misconduct;
-
Collection of licensing fees
and other funds used for regulation of the profession.
The Louisiana Board is a member of
the Federation
of Chiropractic Licensing Boards whose mission is to
protect the public and interact with other state boards by promoting
excellence in chiropractic regulation."
Please
note the Board follows the State Civil Service guidelines relative
to "sexual harassment". Please contact the
Board office for more information or to file a complaint.
